Field-produced marketing and agent-only materials must be approved by Assurity prior to use. Failure to seek and secure approval prior to use of such materials is a violation of the agent contract.
What material needs to be approved? All producers must submit all self- or agency-developed marketing materials – including field-produced advertising, brochures, pre-approach letters, mailers, presentations, agent-only materials, web sites with Assurity products and/or Assurity company name, etc. – to the Assurity marketing services department to ensure their compliance with advertising, unfair trade practices and other applicable state and federal regulations. Previously approved Assurity materials that have been altered must also be submitted, even if only rates or employer name have changed.
How do I submit material? Please submit all materials via fax to marketing services at (402) 458-2185 or via e-mail to adapproval@assurity.com. Marketing services will let the individual requesting a compliance review know that we have received his or her request. Some materials may require a more thorough and complex law department review. Marketing services will work with the law department as needed regarding issues needing that department’s opinion.
How long will review take? Prompt turnaround is our goal for completing the compliance review process for producers’ materials. Many reviews are finished in just a few days. However, the process occasionally can take as long as several weeks. For producers’ convenience, the marketing services department maintains a file of all agent-submitted marketing pieces with a completed compliance review.
